Although it is not Central London, it is very easy and fast to get to the city. You would have best of both worlds, a really nice area in Walthamstow/London close to the William Morris Museum and the busy City of London.
Walthamstow has lots to offer. New restaurants, Cafes and the longest marked in Europe for a start.

There is a direct train from Walthamstow Central Station to Liverpool Street Station in the City of London. Walthamstow Central is around 10 minutes walk from my flat. It takes around 15 minutes from Walthamstow to Liverpool Street.
There are plenty of buses and Underground lines in Liverpool Street Station and it is very easy to get to any place in London. Take the number 23 to Victoria and have a sightseeing tour for very little money.
Next to Liverpool Street Station you would find the famous Old Spitalfield Market,

You could also take the Victoria Line (Tube) from either Blackhorse Road Station or Walthamstow Central Station. It takes around 20 minutes to Victoria Station, passing Oxford Circus with its shopping mile and ending at Brixton, probably the most multi cultural area in London.
Oxford Street Station is very close to Soho with all its Gay Bars and Clubs.

Fancy a long night out? Not a problem, a nightbus to Central London stops 5 minutes from my flat .

As you see it is a doddle to find everything you need in London from my fair priced B&B.
